So… it’s basically Unreal Tournament but in a grubby desert? If anyone wants to try it out, you can still get Hedone closed beta keys from Rock Paper Shotgun. I’m downloading it now. Let me know what you think. Get more info on Hedone from their Twitter, the Facebook page or Hedone.tv. Concept Art

Remember my article on Skyrim where I said that the stealing mechanics in the preview build were broken? Here’s a video from YouTube user Vojteek showing how to steal in (presumably) the retail version of Skyrim that’s out today. Dem’s some sneaky tactics. [Sorry, I forget whose tweet I clicked on to find this]

Right… as my Twitter followers will know, I’ve been experimenting with video stuff for a while now. Thanks to Xander, I learned today that Livestream does a lovely little picture-in-picture for its game streaming. I’ve had a copy of The Baconing on Steam to review for several weeks now, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to give it a [...]

So the new teaser trailer for Afterfall: InSanity is looking pretty good. At first glance, it looks like if you took the Condemned series, then sprinkled on a dash of Metro 2033, added a “dose” of Painkiller and maybe stirred the whole thing up with a rusty blade from Silent Hill, you’d have the unique concoction that is Afterfall. I’m [...]

I was invited to Criterion Games last week to try out their upcoming XBLA and PSN game, Burnout CRASH! Rather than being the traditional 3D car-porn Burnout game that we all know and love, Criterion Games have taken the crash mode that was dropped from Burnout Paradise (sad face) and made a 2D standalone game. In the words of producer [...]

Remember the GT5 race-against-David-Coulthard’s-Merc that we mentioned last week? Coulthard’s race was on Monday. Here are the highlights from the Mercedes Benz UK YouTube channel: You still have two-and-a-half weeks to try to beat his time. Go on, tootle off to your PS3 and look for the special Mercedes-Benz Driving Event.

Back at the end of July we were invited to the iconic Cabbage Patch pub in Twickenham. Every English rugby fan knows that the Cabbage Patch is synonymous with rugby, harking back to the days when cabbages were grown on the Twickenham site. What better location to showcase the new Rugby World Cup 2011 game and hold a tournament of [...]

We’re back from Gamescom! While we’re writing up all the lovely previews and interviews that we did for you, our wonderful readers, take a look at this Klingon stage show that happened in Hall 9. Bizarre, to say the least. Watch out for the v-up near the end. I was impressed. I honestly didn’t think those things were physically possible.

Here's a video of Game Director Stuart Tilley commentating whilst playing the New York track of wipEout 2048 on the PS Vita. Despite his claims, he does a great job of using the tilt and touch controls whilst talking to me about the game.

Late into the dying moments of E3 2011 we finally got our hands on the new Wii U controller. Here’s me showing off my defensive skills with the only demo that even remotely resembled a game. The Pirate Demo! Erm… I mean… The Shield Pose Demo! Most of the technical demos were pretty dry, as you might expect. I have [...]

Hands up if you want to hunt endangered species! We were just sent this video for Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011. I have never heard of this series but given that it dates back to 2005, I guess it’s doing all right. Instead of spending $575 per day on a proffesional hunter [sic] and having to deal with the heat, flies [...]

Frank West is back (again) and this time getting stuck into the Fortune City outbreak. According to the developer – Blue Castle Games – Dead Rising 2: Off The Record is a re-envisioning of Dead Rising 2. So same locations (plus 1 new area), different gameplay. With the Resident Evil games undergoing a re-envisioning in the form of Resident Evil: [...]
