I think it’s fair to say that most game developers don’t like the pre-owned market. I wrote a piece a few months ago in response to the Heavy Rain’s creator’s comments, which claimed he was losing out on vast profit. This argument was based on the amount of PS3 trophies awarded to gamer profiles against the amount of recorded Heavy [...]

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a side scrolling adventure game which combines puzzles, combat, and quirky animation with some great tunes by New World Revolution. Playing as the super soldier Hardboiled Chicken across 15 single player chapters, you must take on the might of the penguin army, led by the Stalinist style dictator ‘Il Putski’. Ratloop Asia have certainly brought a [...]

Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to the 2009 Playstation 3 exclusive Demon’s Souls. It brings with it much of the style and functionality of that earlier title, along with a casual disregard for many modern gaming trends, and a gorgeous fantasy setting, which encourages exploration and experimentation on the part of the player. But in an overcrowded winter gaming [...]

This month’s gamer banter is an unusually specific question: Has a character redesign ruined how you feel about a character? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I was a big fan of Lara Croft as a teenager. In a world saturated with male action stars, male scientists and, of course, male archaeologists, Lara was a welcome sight. Here was a [...]

There are downloadable demos in the European PlayStation Store! I almost fell off the sofa in shock. A demo for The Darkness came out last week and Heavenly Sword was released today. I’ve already played the 360 demo for The Darkness. It’s a bit ho-hum. I’ll post a write-up of that, the Overlord demo and the Heavenly Sword one this [...]

For those of you who are still trying to bag a Wii then check out the GAME “live” Wii stock update page. I say “live” as it was last updated on the 15th Dec, which is pretty recent I suppose. You never know you might get lucky and browse the page just when some stock becomes available. If you do [...]

They are ridiculously cute but if you were thinking of buying the £99.99 Nintendogs DS bundle for your girlfriend/cousin/mum for Christmas (like loads of my gamer friends were) it’s getting really hard to find these days and there’s no word from Nintendo as to whether or not they’ll be restocking stores before Christmas, but it doesn’t look good.
