Vote for the BAFTA GAME Audience Awards 2012

The video game BAFTAs are coming up soon (16th March) and what could be more appropriate than holding a popularity contest for a selection of last year’s games? Yup, GAME are sponsoring the Audience Award again this year and here are the ten finalists as chosen by a panel of influential games media editors and TV presenters.

  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Battlefield 3
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  • FIFA 12
  • L.A. Noire
  • Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Minecraft
  • Portal 2
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception

I have actually played five of these (COD: MW3, Portal 2, LA Noire, Minecraft, Skyrim) and have a further two sitting in the pile of shame in my living room (Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3). Of those five, I would probably vote for…

…Skyrim. Or maybe Portal 2.

I don’t know. I hate these sorts of votes that have no criteria. Those two games are brilliant but also completely different experiences. On the other hand… one voter will win an R2-D2 Xbox 360. Skyrim it is.

(Yes, I know I refused to pick Skyrim for our Games of The Year thing in December because of its bugs but hey, it’s not like The Witcher 2 is one of the contenders. Curse that console gaming panel.)
