News: Assassins Creed 3, Microsoft Flight, BioShock Infinite and more

BioShockInfinite_LogoBioShock Infinite: 2k have announced the release date – 19th October 2012. From the press release:

BioShock Infinite puts players in the role of Booker DeWitt, a hard-bitten former Pinkerton agent, together with the revolutionary AI companion, Elizabeth. The two struggle to escape the sky-city of Columbia, in a 1912 America that might have been. Armed with an arsenal of new weapons and abilities, they face menacing enemies, in unique expansive environments. Classic BioShock gameplay joins innovations such as aerial combat on high-speed Sky-Lines in the service of an immersive storyline

BioShock on Rails. Literally.

Microsoft Flight: Free! Yes, Microsoft’s new direction for the their flight sim (more flight, less sim) was released this week and is a free download from the website. You’ll start with the ICON 5, a “high-wing amphibious monoplane” and will be able to download a few more planes once you sign your life over to Games for Windows. You’ve probably already got an Xbox Gamertag anyway, so what does it matter? Here’s more of our Flight coverage

Mass Effect 3: In rather a shocking bit of news, EA have pulled all copies of Mass Effect 3 and future releases from GAME. Those who preorders should have already received an email with a £5 GAME credit voucher. N7 Collector’s Editions are virtually sold out elsewhere online but a little bird told us today that Amazon, Play, ShopTo and ASDA are the sites to watch if you haven’t already ordered yours.

Baldur’s Gate: A teaser website has appeared for Baldur’s Gate, the game responsible for my rampant BioWare fangirlism. However, BioWare no longer own the rights to the franchise, nor to D&D so I’m treating this one with caution. Metro has more details.

Game of Thrones: New screenshots were released for this upcoming RPG. You can find them in our Facebook gallery.

Assassin’s Creed III: It’s not been formally announced yet but Kotaku published a promotional image leaked from a Best Buy employee that indicates an American setting and Toastervision caught a screengrab of a GameInformer banner that looks be ACIII during the American War of Independence. Could be a pretty sweet setting. The full announcement will be on the official siteat 5pm GMT, 5th March.

On that note, someone has made an amazing Bollywood live-action Assassins Creed film. Watch my favourite clip below and more on CVG.
