DS Recommendations Plz

Posted on 02 May 2008 by Weefz

Now that I’m all out of Ace Attorney games, I have nothing to do on my commute. It’s about a 25 minute journey so I need to be able to save at short notice without losing much progress.

  • I liked Trauma Centre but games like that are fiddly on a moving train.
  • I loved the Ace Attorney games
  • I hated Harvest Moon
  • Animal Crossing was okay but ultimately leaves me feeling empty
  • Same goes for Cooking Mama
  • And Pokémon
  • Don’t even bother with Brain Training
  • I already have Tetris DS

What game should I buy next?

The stand out games I can think of off the top of my head are: Phantom Hourglass and Puzzle Quest. I’m enjoying the new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game quite a bit more than I thought I would (as you already know). Oh, and Rocket Slime was fun too.

As you can see, I lean toward the RPGs.

I’m still getting lots of play out of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Fits well into 25 minute chunks. Or maybe you’d like Puzzle Quest?

  3. Brinstar Says:

    Puzzle Quest. :)

  4. Weefz Says:

Hehe… Puzzle Quest seems popular. Perhaps I shall try that. Thanks :)

I had actually completely overlooked it because I played the version on Xbox Live Arcade. I liked the blending of storyline but if I’m gonna sit in front of a console, I’d rather play a AAA title. Thinking about it again, PQ is probably about right for the DS - can be played in short segments, bit challenging and not reliant on DS mike or touch accuracy. Sounds good.

OTOH, I am very, very bad at XBLA Bejewelled and what’s the other one, Jewel Thief? I’ll have a bit of a practice before spending £15+ on a game that I might give up on after a couple of days.

You should definitely try Rocket slime. It was one of the first DS games I played, and I really liked it. It’s not an RPG like the rest of the Dragon Quest series. Google to read some reviews / see screenshots if you like.

Puzzle Quest is a good game. My brother has it. :-)

I have tried the Puzzle Quest and I enjoy playing it everyday. The game is very addictive and you will love it directly. However, I agree with MMO above that Rocket Slime i another option if you don’t find the Puzzle Quest to attractice.

Mirsad, what’s wrong with Rocket Slime?

  9. Zohai Says:
