Here’s my advice for John Blade: Get a freaking wire-cutter!

As you can see, the fence is blocking the route. So what do you do? There’s no one in view so perhaps I’ll climb over it? Nah, there’s barbed wire. John Blade don’t do barbed wire. I know – I’ll find a way around at considerable bullet expenditure along with risk to life and limb…

Here is the totally sensible way around, as seen from a nearby lighthouse. The route disappears off the left where I entered the lighthouse and came back out upstairs.

But a-ha! With a wire-cutter or a blanket to defend against the nefarious barbed wire…

Alas, John Blade did not have the foresight to pack his trusty Leatherman. Maybe next time.
