Send me to Sweden!

Posted on 18 August 2006 by Weefz

VIA Technologies, Inc. and VIA Chrome Ambassadors, the girlz 0f destruction have launched a competition which will send a lucky girl and her female friend to The House of Chrome in Stockholm, Sweden for a weekend. At The Home of Chrome (dun, dun DUNNNNN!) the prize winners will be taught how to play PC games. I suspect they mean PC FPS games since the girlz 0f destruction are apparently professional Quake 4 players:

..when you enter the contest you are actually going to nominate someone else to win the trip! The second is… that you have to nominate a girl! … although we are thinking we might throw in a prize of some sort for the nice person who does the nominating.

That’s right, to qualify we want you to tell us why your 18 years old or older girl/female/sister/mom/ niece/grandmother/great great grandmother should have the experience of living the pro gamer lifestyle for 1 weekend.

So, anyone who’s feeling particularly generous toward me can head on over to the Home of Chrome website and tell them why I (Weefz of TheAverageGamer.com) should get a free weekend holiday in Stockholm with US$250 shopping money professional training on PC games.

Here’s some info to get you started: I’m 25 and I’ve been gaming (RPG, adventure) for about 18 years. I rarely play FPS games because being attacked by virtual monsters scares the crap out me so much that my aim goes horrendously wrong and I inevitably back into a corner and get slashed to pieces. I like playing Unreal Tournament and I’m pretty fearsome with a Flak Cannon but my defensive skills are almost non-existent. I need help!

Feel free to ask any question in the comments below or email me using the Contact Us link in the sidebar make up stuff to make me sound more interesting than Brinstar ;)

The competition closes 10th September 2006. No profanity, violence or other indecency in the entry, please. It’s against the competition rules. And to those of you who read the nomination page where it says “prize winners must be verified as female to collect their prize”… No, you do not get to verify my female parts beforehand. Unless you can make it worth my while. *nudge, nudge, say no more*

Dude, I am going to make my friends nominate me…! Hopefully one of them will be able to get off their arses long enough to submit an entry. :P

Hmm, Stockholm is very nice although I wouldn’t recommend having a drink there. Very high taxes on alcohol. :(

    Brinstar: Ooo, bring it on!

GamingHobo: Eek! Then again $250 spending money should help with that ;)
