Games for sick kids

Posted on 08 December 2005 by Weefz

A couple of year ago, web-comic creators Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins of the brilliant Penny Arcade set up Child’s Play, a charity dedicated to buying toys and games for children’s hospitals around the world. They have now added Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to the list, so any UK gamers who feel like spreading a little goodwill gaming addiction to sick kids in Liverpool this Christmas can head over to the Child’s Play website and make a donation. Prove to the world that we haven’t all been converted into blood-lust-crazed killers by the wickedness inherent in videogaming!

Anyone in the world can either donate through PayPal, which will be spread throughout all the hospitals in their programme, or you can buy gifts directly for each hospital through their Amazon wish list, linked from the site.

UK donors, I don’t think donations of money are eligible for Gift Aid, since it comes from a common Child’s Play pool but I’ll try to find out.
