Resident Evil is a franchise I hold very close to my heart. Ever since I was a child, I have been terrified by the intense scares of this survival horror, creeping through the corridors of the infamous mansion of Resident Evil’s debut entry, and I’ve survived the horrors of Raccoon City. From the moment you press start at the opening [...]

As mentioned yesterday, a new Resident Evil website has appeared this week, for the Umbrella Corporation. It does look pretty slick, but at first glance it looks very similar in style to the Deus Ex: Human Revolution website for Sarif Industries. I’m not going to put screenshots here, because they would not do the sites justice. Compare the sites: http://sarifindustries.com/en/ http://www.umbrellasciences.com/ However, [...]

The latest news for gamers, fresh from the apocalypse. Which apocalypse? All of them. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Corporation’s R&D website has been hacked. A terrorist group called themselves “Inserted Evil” have taken over the site and are redirecting visitors to a propaganda website. Spurious claims about the biotechnology company are being made in a video. We can only hope [...]

I do like to keep this site pretty clean and not drown you guys in dozens of news posts taken straight from press releases. That does frequently mean, however, that you miss out on some interesting stuff. I’ve decided to do a daily news round-up post that pulls together the most useful, interesting or just plain weird things we hear [...]

There’s a new Resident Evil game in town and it’s called Operation Raccoon City. Sounding very much like one of those clip episodes that you used to get in Friends – a bit of new plot and then cobbled together highlights from previous episodes, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon will allow players to: …experience a retelling of classic moments from past [...]

Zombie killing always seems to come in and out of fashion, like flares and turtle necks. We've got Resident Evil running constantly in the background and TV shows like The Walking Dead. In November 2010, Housemarque released their isometric 3D zombie-slaughtering PSN game - Dead Nation. Richard finds out if it's just another faddy cash-in or a genuinely fun game.

We got to try out the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld console over the weekend at their consumer previews. It was a strange event in Brick Lane, with a very impressive Street Fighter cosplay fight, some rather grabby Redfields from STARS protecting us from a zombie invasion and the opportunity to shoot yourself in face. Does it work? Debbie: So, that [...]

If you’ve ever wondered what a mash-up of Resident Evil 4 and 5 would look like in 3D, then check out this trailer for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. It looks like Capcom have done just that. The game is essentially an extension of the mercenaries mode from Resident Evil 4 – get as many kills within the time limit [...]

We did our bit to help out the NHS by spending our morning searching London for Infected body parts. Apparently there was a bit of an outbreak...

BEWARE – SMALL SPOILERS – skip the italicised text if you don’t want to know! Age rating: 12+ What is it? Adventure, action, but not really enough puzzles. Is it fun? Yes, for the most part. Is it worth the money? £29.99 (from Play.com) Yes, but the game is a little short (…I am seeing a theme recurring here) Why? [...]
