Now that the weekend is over, what better than some gaming news to cheer you all up. Zelda 25th Anniversary Concert: Tickets have gone on sale for the London leg of the concert tour from the Ticketmaster website which now amazingly lets you pick your own seats rather than just randomly allocating whatever is available in your price range. I do like to keep this site pretty clean and not drown you guys in dozens of news posts taken straight from press releases. That does frequently mean, however, that you miss out on some interesting stuff. I’ve decided to do a daily news round-up post that pulls together the most useful, interesting or just plain weird things we hear [...]

If you can’t make the meet the maestros of video games event in Los Angeles how about popping along to listen to the frickin’ brilliant Jonathan Coulton at the Union Chapel in London on the 11th June 2011. He’s responsible for some awesomely geeky and catchy tunes like Re Your Brains and the classic song from Portal – Still Alive. [...]

Aperture Laboratories have release 2 more videos which show off more of the funky technology (or investment opportunities) that players test subjects will encounter during their time spent in Portal 2s test chambers. Following on from the very scary moveable walls video, we now get to see what fun Aperture Laboratories have packed into the sentry turrets. Sentry Turrets: Does [...]

Aperture Laboratories poses the question – Are bots more trustworthy than humans in a test chamber environment? Watch the video to find out the answer. Did you get it right? ;-) Aperture Laboratories [...]

Here’s the latest Portal 2 video showing off another of the game’s new features: moving, violent and blood-thirsty* test chamber walls. On this evidence it’s looking like not only will the contents of each chamber potentially kill you, but also the walls too and they’ll do it in the most violent way possible. Tread in the wrong place and ….squish! [...]

I can’t begin to describe how much I’m looking forward to Portal 2. Ok, I can. A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!! The original Portal was one of the best games I’ve ever played and left me wanting loads more. After a long wait Valve have started releasing information about Portal 2, so now we have the full version of the first co-op trailer [...]

Nick Larson Media have made a very impressive stop-motion Lego animation of Portal’s cake-hunt. I’m very impressed by the sheer amount of work it must have taken to get over 1300 stop-motion Lego frames. OTOH, given the legnth of the video, there aren’t nearly enough portals. Good smoke stacks, though. There’s no embeddable version but you can see the video [...]

Instead of interviews, psychometric tests and assessment days, recruiters should use Portal to weed out unimaginative undesirables.
