Asylum was great, wasn’t it? I know people have got some reservations about City, what with it being a bit pointlessly expanded resulting in it feeling a little less focused, but I think it’s pretty great too. It’s just such a tactile experience, dropping into a large crowd of opponents, ducking and dodging around them, countering blows, catching chairs, breaking [...]

To say I was looking forward to Batman: Arkham City is a bit of an understatement. From the very moment I finished Batman: Arkham Asylum I’d been waiting for the chance to fly as Batman once again. With the first game set entirely within the modest confines of Gotham’s craziest lunatic asylum, the sprawling metropolis of the Arkham City prison [...]

At this year’s Eurogamer Expo I interviewed Sarah Wellock, Community Manager and Adam Vincent, 3D animator from Rocksteady Studios on the Batman: Arkham City stand. In the first part of this interview Sarah and Adam spoke about every single place in Arkham City being unique and the beefed up combat system. In the second part of the interview they talk [...]

Ready for some in-game Batman: Arkham City action? Good, then cop a load of this trailer (without sound unfortunately) which popped up on IGN’s site a few minutes ago. I love the new glide and dive skill that Batman shows off as well as the updated detective mode. Very fancy. Note: To watch the video you have to enter your [...]

Rocksteady Studio’s follow-up to last years brilliant Batman: Arkham Asylum looks to be shaping up very nicely indeed based on these screenshots. I’m expecting the game to look just as good as this given how stunning the original was. As you’ll see from my review of Batman: Arkham Asylum, my biggest criticism of the game was around Batman’s detective mode [...]

It’s been a long time since I’ve played such a well scripted and entertaining game as this. Batman: Arkham Asylum was originally released almost a year ago, but I just didn’t get round to playing it until recently. As it turned out Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of those games that I just couldn’t put down and had to play constantly until I finished it (rather like Assassin’s Creed II). After 3 fairly solid days play I had managed to complete pretty much everything the game had to offer, including all the tricky Riddler puzzles (more about these later). The fact that this game held my complete attention for so long indicates just how well crafted an experience it was.

Debut trailer for the sequel to the awesome Batman: Arkham Asylum. Anyone else looking forward to this as much as me?

As a recently-self-employed gamer, the price of new games is even more a concern to me than it used to be (if such a thing is possible). Yes, I’ve heard plenty of people argue that pounds-per-hour, games are much better value than films/clubbing/sailing/blah, blah, blah. These people invariably leave out the part where the majority games aren’t very good and [...]
