13GB Patch for Dead Rising 3, DLC Coming Tomorrow

Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle Adam Kane

Were you looking forward to tomorrow’s new DLC for Dead Rising 3? Best fire your Xbox One tonight and get patching because today’s update is a whopping 13GB. If your broadband speed is anything under 10/Mbps, that’s at least 3 hours of downloading before the patch is complete. Probably at least an hour before you can even play the game.

The only gameplay update in the patch is a new “impulse trigger feature that notifies players when they are running low on ammo.” Everything else is “performance and stability upgrades, and fixes for issues related to achievements, UI updates, SmartGlass and more” according to a press release I received today.

Tomorrow’s DLC release is called “Operation Broken Eagle” and will cost £7.99. Rather than playing Nick or the co-op character Dick, you’ll be an new bloke running around the city of Los Perdidos. Spec Ops Commander Adam Kane is out to capture the Missing President of the United States across five new missions. If the picture above is anything to go by, he’s as generic as a protagonist can get. The DLC includes a new combo weapon, a new vehicle, a new clothing outfit. All this and your experience points can be carried over into your main Dead Rising 3 game.

IF you really love the game, there’s a season pass available that includes Operation Broken Eagle as well as three yet-to-be-announced “content packs” for £23.99, which will you eight quid compared to buying all four packs individually. Each pack will have new gameplay, characters, missions, weapons and more.
