London Games Art Now Up for Auction

Games companies all over the UK came together to form the Games Art Exhibition during last month’s London Games Festival. Over a hundred pieces were on display in City Hall, ranging from concept art sketches to signed posters to specially-commissioned prints. Now it’s all going up for auction, with the proceeds being donated to Special Effect, a charity dedicated to making games accessible to disabled people.

The pieces will be released in four batches. The first batch of auctions went live today and will be running for 10 days on eBay. This includes a signed, printed sketch of Raiden from Yoji Shinkawa, a beautiful picture of Hobbiton from the upcoming Lego – Lord of the Rings game and some incredible art of Dunwall from Dishonored. There are also plenty of prints from Rocksteady’s Batman games, signed pictures of Fable III characters and a lovely set of procedurally generated shapes from Eufloria.

My personal favourite doesn’t go live until 26th November and I’m sure it will be incredibly popular – this collection of Sackboy sketches from an unknown Sony artist. I can’t help but smile just looking at his little expressions.
