The Average Gamer

We’re On Raptr! (What’s That?)

I’m very happy to announce that The Average Gamer has just joined an editorial partnership with Raptr!

“What’s Raptr?” I hear you ask. Twitter users may know it as that annoying service that tweets out what people have been playing in the past 24 hours, or tweets achievements, but it’s actually a lot more than that.

  1. It tracks your gaming through Xbox Live, PlayStation Trophies and if you download the PC client, it tracks those games too. We’ve been using their gamer banners on the About Us page for over a year now.
  2. You can compare achievements and game time with your friends
  3. The Windows app acts as a unified IM client that covers MSN, GTalk, Steam, Xbox Live, Facebook chat and more. It also provides an optional in-game chat service rather like Steam’s.
  4. Raptr sometimes offer rewards in the form of booster packs for certain games, discounts on gaming accessories or beta keys. Usually, you have to have logged a certain amount of time in specific games to qualify for these.
  5. It’s a hub for gaming news and articles. Every article gets tagged with topics. You can customise the ones you follow to get, say, all the news on Primal Carnage. This is where our editorial partnership comes in.

Essentially, we now have a dedicated topic where you can vote our articles up (or down) and join the games conversation with a whole new gaming community. It’s nicer than N4G, I promise…

Go on, gizza follow on Raptr.
