Sony is touring around the UK for the next couple of months promoting the Playstation 3 at various unsuspecting shopping centres and train stations.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s (SCEE) UK Trade Marketing Manager Rosemary Buahin has commented that:
The main aim of the PS3 UK Tour is to showcase those capabilities which stretch beyond the realms of gaming to include HD pictures, music, photography, PlayStation Network and PSP compatibility.
Maybe if Sony actually released some more games they wouldn’t have to keep on telling us about the PS3 other capabilities. Sorry, I couldn’t resist that little jibe. They keep promising all these games, but I just keep buying them on the 360 as they are available 1st and usually cheaper (DIRT for example).
Tour locations:
- 1-14 October - Trafford Centre, Manchester
- 8-21 October - Bluewater, Kent
- 16-28 October - Metro Centre, Gateshead
- 31 October – 13 November - MK Centre, Milton Keynes
- 6-8 November - Victoria Station, London
- 10 November – 9 December - The 02 Arena (The Dome), London
- 12-13 November - Newcastle Station
- 15–28 November - Meadowhall, Sheffield
- 20-22 November - Paddington Station, London
- 30 November – 14 December - Bullring, Birmingham
If you’re interested in what the tour is actually going to look like, then take a look at the pictures below. We will be visiting the tour when it reaches the O2 Arena in November.

If I manage to get to the Metro Centre Gateshead one I’ll give you a little report on it. Could make it next Saturday maybe.
