There’s a Little Britain Game?

Posted on 31 January 2007 by Weefz

GameSauce Logo Like most of the UK-dwelling population, I like parts of the BBC’s Little Britain. I like Andy. Vicky Pollard amuses me. Kenny Craig as well. Bubbles? Er, no. And Harvey… don’t even start.

So when I heard that there was a Little Britain game coming out next week, I was a little intrigued. But mostly I’m afraid. Very afraid. You know why?

Screenshots like this:

Here’s a less disturbing picture to blot the previous one out of our minds:

Apparently it’s a series of minigames based on sketches created by the genuine duo, Matt Lucas and David Walliams. It’s snappily-entitled ‘Little Britain: The Video Game’, not to be confused with the interactive DVD, ‘Little Britain: The Game”. The video game sounds interesting, but I don’t enjoy minigames enough to justify a price tag of £16.99.

A PSP version will be out in spring but ‘Little Britain: The Video Game’ comes out in the UK on PC and PS2 this Friday 2nd February. Very convenient if you’re researching Valentine’s Day presents for the Little Britain lover in your life.

(Note to boyfriend: Don’t even think about it.)

Oh how my poor heart bleeds as the bizzarely bad licenses that get made into games these days. I can just see the execs talking:

“Look, here’s a bandwagon… Let’s jump on it and see how far it takes us!”

Some time later, after their firing, these same execs are left bloody and unamused.

    Oh dear….oh dear oh dear….

I could never understand in the days of the Amiga and such when you’d get these tie-ins which you knew from the outset wouldn’t be worth touching with the longest of bargepoles - they keep making them = some people must keep buying them = who are these people?

Yeah. Misguided parents and grandparents, I think. People who don’t really know games but know that Johnny likes those computer games and that Little Britain show.
