Some very helpful soul decided to clear up any potential confusion over which controller works with each type of virtual console game on the Wii with this natty looking chart:

It’s so simple, you just need all 3 controllers (Wii, Classic and Gamecube) to play everything. *Kerching* (sound of the Nintendo cash registers ringing with your moola!)
Now I’ve just got to wait until the 8th Dec 06 for my Wii to arrive. Back into the freezer* for me.
