I’ve just pre-ordered Metal Slug Anthology for the PSP from Play.com as I fancied something a little different to play on my PSP.

This anthology is a nice little “arcade perfect” collection of all the Metal Slug games from SNK:

• Metal Slug
• Metal Slug 2
• Metal Slug X - Metal Slug 2 but without the slow down and a few game play tweaks!
• Metal Slug 3
• Metal Slug 4 - The worst game in the series?
• Metal Slug 5
• Metal Slug 6

Mmm, I wonder how long it took them to come up the the game titles?

7 games on one PSP UMD disk. Much cheapness! Oh, and these games are also widely regarded as the being the definitive side scrolling shooters on any platform. I feel some X button bashing coming on.

The game is released in the UK on the 27th Oct 06 and in the US on 31st Oct 06.
The Nintendo Wii version is a launch title - 19th Nov 06 - with all sorts of questions over the how the game will utilise the Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers.
