Again.
Nobody surprised.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the release date for PlayStation 3 in PAL territories has been pushed back until March 2007.

Would be the perfect chance for Nintendo to establish a whole lot of brand loyalty by announcing a Christmas Wii launch.
Hey, I can dream, right?
Update 11th Sep 06: What’s that? The Wii will launch 3 days before my birthday?

Debbie owns and runs The Average Gamer. She started her gaming addiction during the mid-eighties on a lovely green Amstrad CPC64. From those early days of The Hobbit (say to Thorin “Carry me please”) she graduated to Lucasarts adventures and western C-RPGs. She accidentally fell into real-time strategy through the original Dune game but it really isn’t her thing. A few years of Discworld MUD addiction followed. Eventually she found first-person shooters, Japanese RPGs and Soul Calibur, and is now a fully-rounded gamer.
While everyone is still focused on the simple fact that we’re not geting PS3, how about the effect this will have on PSP. As it stands, PSP is suffering from a drop in sales and popularity, and I’m sure Sony were planning on using the PS3 to help boost those figures.
No PS3 this Christmas means no incentive to purchase a PSP to avail of any cool link-up features there might be. We already know the PSP is heading the way of the dodo, is this the final nail in it’s coffin? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
You’re quite right there. To be honest, when I heard stories about using the PSP as a side-mirror for driving games and other weird stuff like that, the first thing I thought was WTF? I have to see any compelling reasons to buy a £150 device with the intention of hooking it up to a console.
sony is the shitzorz!!
haha – only kidding, seriously though this isnt good at all, but in the long run – if the console is as powerful as they say, they may be ok. Problem is that most 360 games only use a single core of the 360, once people learn how to get games using all cores, then 360 games will excell – taking away sonys potential edge.
all eyes to Wii for xmas – lets hope they have enough units huh!?!?
I’m asking Santa for a Wii this Christmas. I hope I get one :-)
