The Average Gamer

Calling aspiring (female) models …

Joystick Junkies British gaming fashion label Joystick Junkies are recruiting for 6 part-time representatives to model their clothes and represent the brand:

“You should be 18-30 with a desire to use this opportunity to further your career, love video games (any format or genre is ok) and be ready for a very real adventure! These are not full time positions but ideal for people wanting some extra work to fill those annoying gaps in your schedule and, of course, some great results for your CV and portfolio.

The lucky finalists will get regular paid work at Joystick Junkies parties and events, fashion shows and trade events, photo shoots and interviews plus free travel, games, clothing, and much more.”

More details available here.

I’ve been to a few of their parties and they can be pretty good – they had gaming tables with Golden Axe and other retro games whose names temporarily slip my mind. (Yes, okay, I was drinking mucho Budweiser.)

Less impressed with the clothes because, good god, £29.99 for a babydoll?? I could get a Penny Arcade Jenkins Academy shirt couriered in for less than that! JJ’s shirts aren’t bad designs but… y’know… “Rogues do it from behind” vs “Big Al’s Video Arcade“?

Rogues all the way, baby.
