PSP Adverts - White bits

Posted on 01 March 2006 by TheFluffyFist

I came across this PlayStation Portable advert on the DLR this morning.

PSPAdvert-GF white bits

It’s one in a series of PSP advertisements that have been appearing around London recently. I was with my girlfirend at the time and the conversation went something like this:

Me: “Ooooh…PSP advert” :-)
Girlfriend: “I don’t get it…”
Me: “Instead of white think naughty
Girlfriend: “Oh!”
Girlfriend: ***Smack!***
Me: “Hehe” ;-) **Snigger**

See, the PSP is not just for games…

There’s a whole load of these ads around at the moment (click the images to see large versions on Weefz’s Flickr account):

Update 6th March 2006: According to AdLand, the ads are made by TBWA London, the same company that was behind the John Smith’s “Top Bombing” ad and the iconic iPod silhouette ads. Apparently there are 22 different PSP ads, so we got a way to go yet!

To 1 and 2 - it’s supposed to be a joke! White bits refer to the untanned regions after a sunbathe. Perhaps this is only a British saying?

  6. Weefz Says:

Cleaver - I think it’s British blokey slang since quite a few British girls haven’t heard it either. I’m not a Brit but the closest expression I’ve heard is “pink bits” which is a probably bit too unsubtle for public advertising.
