Xbox One Announcements from gamescom 2013

Xbox One Logo
Microsoft held their Xbox One briefing for gamescom this morning. A couple of new games were revealed, bundles announced and indie developers welcomed.

FIFA 14

All pre-orders of the Xbox One console will come with a free copy of FIFA 14. I can’t think of a game I’d want less but there’s obviously a huge contingent of gamers who would disagree.

No word on whether it’s a tradable physical copy or a digital download code. I’m betting on the latter.

FIFA 14 will also have FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, a mode exclusive to Xbox. You’ll be able to buy Gold Packs (whatever these are) that will contain a random drop of football legends – people like Ruud Gullit, Freddie Ljunburg, Messi and Pelé. These will also be tradable through the in-game Transfer Market, so you can build your own Ultimate Team.

There wil also be an Xbox 360 FIFA 14 bundle available in Europe from 27th September for ~£199.

COD: Ghosts Bundle

Microsoft revealed a new map and the Blitz mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts. More information will be available on this mode through Xbox Live, tomorrow at 7pm BST.

They also confirmed that all downloadable content will be available first on Xbox One and 360.

There will be a Call of Duty bundle available at launch that includes the game and special Xbox One bonus content. This will only be available from GAME.

New Fable Announced

Fable Legends will be a 4-player online co-op game set in the familiar world of Albion. You can apparently play as the villain and “mastermind the entire game in real time”.

Could be interesting, in a dungeon/game master sort of way. Let’s hope your dastardly decisions have more impact than farting in a few villagers’ faces.

New Mojang Game

A new game called Cobalt was announced, coming from the studio behind Minecraft. It’s a platform shooter that pits up to eight players against each other. This will launch in the first half of 2014.
