Assassins Creed III Multiplayer Trailer

Ooh, the new Assassins Creed III trailer showcases multiplayer and maybe hints towards developments in the Abstergo plotline.

It’s a bit waffley so skip to 1:25 for the good stuff.

This throws up all sorts of questions. Are Abstergo going mainstream? Will the Animus be in every household? Does the Nintendo Wii really deserve to be in a list of inventions alongside the World Wide Web, the HIV protease inhibitor and DNA sequencing?

On a rather more useful note, the trailer confirms two multiplayer modes:

  • Domination – That well-known PvP mode where you capture control points. Player teams will be 4 vs 4 assassins
  • Wolfpack – This looks more like the original Brotherhood multiplayer where you assassinate targets. Players teams can be 2 or 4 players vs an AI team of 8 assassins.

The Friend Hub page lists a series of stats that look intriguingly like other modes or activities that will crop up in multiplayer:

  • Domination
  • Artifact Assault
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Capture The Flag
  • Steal The Artifact
  • Drive The Car
  • Open The Can
  • Meet Ted

The ranking system will include challenges and accolades like Gargoyle – spend the most tie on rooftops, The Sneaker – the player revealed by the least targets, The Wingman – most assists. These will ad a bonus to your standard game session score, helping you earn Abstergo credits and increasing your Abstergo score.

Seen anything likely to tempt you into Assassin’s Creed multiplayer yet? What would it take?
