Bioware have released this latest clip from one of the flashpoints from Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR). In a nutshell, flashpoints are story driven missions where your choices make a difference to the enemies you fight and the outcome of the flashpoint. You can also repeat flashpoints as often as you wish and they contain some of the best rewards in the galaxy, at least according to the SWTOR website. The following clip is from the Taral V flashpoint:

Whilst the environments in this clip look interesting, I’ll need to see a bit more of how the combat works before I begin to get excited about this game, as it doesn’t look great in this clip. All the enemies are very static, especially the giant robot/droid. I know KOTOR was awesome, with Weefz being a huge fan of that game. But, to steal a famous quote from Star Wars, do people have a “bad feeling about this” game. Is it just too big an ask for Bioware to produce a really good Star Wars MMO?

Star Wars: The Old Republic will be released on the PC sometime in the future.

I quite enjoyed Alien Breed 2: Assault even if the gameplay was a little repetitive. However, in terms of scary, horror-type atmosphere the game had buckets of it. So turn the lights off and prepare to get a little jumpy!

In Alien Breed 3: Descent you get to dive deeper into the Alien vessel in a bid to stop it crashing into the planet and killing all on board (i.e. you and your crew mates). The “horrifying truth” behind the Breed also awaits you. Eeek!

As before, there is a single-player campaign, two-player online co-operative battle modes.

Alien Breed 3: Descent is released on the 17th Nov 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Dead Space 2 is shaping up to be a seriously cool and scary looking game based on this evidence. I love the fact you can just jetpack around the outside of a space station. And from the look of the screenshots there some pretty scary stuff waiting to eat your brains! I’ve not had chance to play the original Dead Space yet, but it is on my list of thing to do. Has anyone any comments about the first game?

Unsurprisingly, this is the sequel to Super Mario Galaxy.

Given Nintendo’s track record of churning out sequel upon sequel, it comes as no surprise what-so-ever that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is in the pipeline. However, the first Super Mario Galaxy game was really, really good. So much so I played it constantly until I’d finished it (and then never touched it again!).

On the basis of this latest trailer, we can expect pretty much more of the same but with added Yoshi. So, I’m pretty happy with that.
