The gamemakers are adding a little more complexity to the game with Desmond Miles (the young male in present day) and it allows for more of a seqal (Assassin's Creed 2) it wouldn't make much sense to go from one main caracter to another with out adding Miles to it. They (gamemakers) are using the present day to connect the games. If you were to play the games without having a line connecting them they'd be diffeent games with: differnt caraccters and voices, but same gameplay, and idea. and it'd be hard to connect the two without flashbacks, either with dreams or just something in between the main story line of the second game, which could cause boredom and/or story lag. So, I say yay for the present day inbetweens.
 Also, if you look around the cities in both games you can find mini challenges or just annoy the gaurds if you get bored with gameplay.
 My rating for the games 6 stars (if thats possible)

Hey, love the site, but I'm afraid I love this game even more.

It's true that there is too much dialogue, and it's true that it's much more fun to run around stabbing people (it sounds violent but just you wait till you get the game) or jumping into rivers but it's a brilliant game non the less.

I've never been very good at the "missions" but I really enjoyed all the sort of side games like collecting the flags or killing the Templars.

So to sum up... This is an Awesome game even if I am rubbish at it.

@Zath

Yeah, it is fantastic technical achievement, even if the all the cites look very similar graphically. Enjoying the environment is pretty much what kept me playing till the end rather tan the basic gameplay.

I've seen some mixed reviews of this Assassin's Creed - some people say that there's very little actual gameplay and things to do in the game, would you say it's a good tech demo that's been given some playable sections?
