Seems like a lot of companies in the UK run like that – not just games. I don’t know how they survive but they seem to manage. We know a few lovely people in the games industry. They’re all down in the trenches where the work is being done.

Anyway, I spent a while digging around and eventually came up with the direct email address of a couple of people from XLeague. Got a response from one of them the day after the screentests. Okay, it was too late but still better than the no response at all from the contact address.

I know that lots of companies outside of the games sector are bad at simply not replying… but in my experience people IN the sector are even worse. I met a couple of guys who run a dev studio (I won’t say who or where) but they weren’t nice people and even though we were in contact at the time their manners and replies were never very good. Same with a lot of other people I’ve spoken to in the industry. I guess people are just too busy to have manners and be nice!

Yeah, I’m losing hope of hearing from this lot. Even a “Sorry, you’re not what we’re looking for” would be fine but they haven’t even bothered with that.

And thanks for the compliment :) There are plenty of other female gamesbloggers about – see The Iris Network Directory for a handy list. However yes, most of them are outside the UK and London.

Ummmmm, Weefz, will they really provide more details? You updated today and they haven’t responded to your email? Given that you’d provide something rather rare – a girl gamer who REALLY knows her stuff – they’d be hopping mad not to have you.

I’d take a look myself but I’m a good 293 miles away – so not worth the five hour drive really ha ha.
