E3 2006 – Watch it online

E3ExpoLogoCan’t make it to E3 this year (9th May – 12th May, Los Angeles Convention Centre)?
Well don’t worry as you can still watch long and mostly boring, apart from glimpses of tasty hardware (PS3, Revolution Wii, XBOX portable?), death by PowerPoint, E3 presentations from 2 out of the 3 main players via their official E3 websites.

Nintendo:

Live steaming coverage on the official Nintendo E3 site here
You can watch as a huge room of Nintendo fanboys (and press) go crazy for Wii (*giggle*…sorry, it just sounds so wrong every time I say Wii (*giggle*).

Sony:

Coverage is via the US PlayStation site here. This looks like it’s going to be an edited view of everything Sony at E3. Hopefully we will get some more PS3 info and a look at the “redesigned” boomerang controller.

Microsoft:

No streaming content available, instead you get E3 demos and trailers via the Marketplace and a free week of XBOX Live Gold Access. Ahh, arn’t they nice.
Get ready to hammer Microsoft’s servers between 8th May 12:01am and 12th May 11.59pm when all the E3 content will be available (times quoted are BST).

XBOX Marketplace E3 content will include:

  • Gears of War high-definition game trailer
  • Playable demo of Capcom’s Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
  • Exclusive high-definition blockbuster movie trailer downloads
  • The release of UNO on Xbox Live Arcade
  • Playable game demos and/or trailers: Crackdown, Dead or Alive : Xtreme 2, The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle Earth II, Moto GP 06, Sonic the Hedgehog, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Test Drive Unlimited, Viva Piñata – More trailers than demos I bet.
  • Call of Duty 2 – New Multiplayer Map Packs
  • Game with Fame celebrity gaming sessions (Jenny McCarthy, Method Man) – Does anyone care?
  • Play and Win contests with the latest Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade titles
  • Limited edition E3 Gamerpics and Themes
  • A Backstage Pass to see developers preparing for E3

Then we have Eurogamer live at E3. They are providing lots, and lots of E3 coverage. Go check it out, should be good!
